In addition to our Recovery Advocacy Day, Recovery Talks, training workshops, and various forums, FOR-NY works to promote the power and promise of recovery through several special events held each year.
Friends of Recovery – New York Annual Recovery Fine Arts Festival
Started in 2003, the Annual Recovery Fine Arts Festival provides budding artists in all stages of Recovery with an opportunity to express themselves through a variety of artistic mediums. Roughly 100 works are submitted each year and put on display at the Empire State Plaza each September, National Recovery Month.
Entries for the 2017 festival are being now being accepted. This year’s theme is “Recovery is Real. Attainable. Sustainable. Powerful.” We know it is; and we can’t wait to see how our friends in recovery use their creativity and imagination to make art that expresses this truth for all to see!
