Stories of Recovery are as diverse as society itself. Addiction doesn’t discriminate, and neither does recovery. There are recovery stories from men and women, young and old, rich and poor. We come from every ethnic group and they work in every profession. We have GEDs and PhDs. We’re are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters. We’re alive, and we’re grateful. We know that our stories inspire not only others in long-term recovery, but individuals living in the throes of addiction as well. You can inspire others by sharing your recovery story. Just send it to us at Stories@for-ny.org.
The following are stories of individuals and family members who’ve struggled with addiction and found their way back to life through recovery.
